Helping You Afford a Safe Home for Your Family

The federal government assists low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford a decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market through the housing choice voucher program.

You will pay 30% of your adjusted gross income for the housing and utilities per month. Application or waiting lists are open at all times. Qualification for all programs offered by the DCHA is at 80% of median income or below per applicant's family size.
